As Ruthern Valley Holidays is so centrally located in the heart of Cornwall, it offers a multitude of places to visit and experience, all of which are within reasonable driving distance.
Beaches. We are 10 miles from the north and south coasts and all their beach-bases activities, whether for sunbathing, surfing and sandcastles or for more adventurous pursuits such as kite surfing and sea kayaking; many of the bays have schools for novices and those who wish to improve their techniques.
Cycling and walking. The Camel Trail is a 16-mile dedicated cycling and walking route which follows the old ‘Atlantic Coast Express’ railway line between Bodmin and Padstow. There are several points along the way to join it – one of which is 5 minutes by bike from the site on a relatively level route. The Camel Trail is part of the ‘Cornish Way’, a cycle route round Cornwall. For the keen walker, there are numerous hiking trails and, of course, the South West Coast Path which follows the Cornish coastline; the Saints’ Way is a Pilgrims’ route incorporating many of the churches between Padstow and Fowey.
Horse riding and pony trekking. Novice and experienced riders are all catered for locally, with a nearby riding school and trekking centre on Bodmin Moor.
Fishing For those who fancy a spot of fishing, there is sea fishing out of Padstow, Looe and Mevagissey, and river and lake fishing not too far away.

The Camel Trail is also an important link in the Cornish Way, a cycle route round Cornwall. We are just 5 minutes away by byke.
Why not cycle to Padstow and enjoy fish and chips at Rick Stein's takeaway fish and chip shop, or any the other fabulous take-aways or simply browse around the many wonderful gift shops in the town. |
